Terms of service
These terms apply when you use FoxLine. They are written as plainly as we can manage.
In effect from
“We” means Recentriq LLC, the company that publishes FoxLine, and “you” means the business or person who opened the account. If any of this is unclear, ask before you open an account — that is better for everybody than explaining it afterwards.
Who can use it
Any business, anywhere we are allowed to trade.
FoxLine is sold to businesses. To open an account you must be at least 18 and authorised to enter into an agreement on behalf of the business you are opening it for.
Recentriq LLC is registered in the United States, so we cannot open an account where United States sanctions or export controls forbid it. If your country is not on the list the signup form accepts, that is the reason, and it is not something support can override.
We do not ask for company documents or identity documents to open an account. Your calls travel over a trunk you already hold a contract for, and the identity check that matters has been done by the carrier who sold you that trunk.
What the service is
Software in front of your own phone line. We are not your carrier.
What we sell is the platform — extensions, IVR menus, business hours, ring groups, call queues, voicemail, the browser softphone, the reporting, and on the higher plan the automated dialler. It is priced by the number of people using it.
How calls reach the outside world is your arrangement, not ours. You connect your own SIP trunk, and the minutes on it are between you and your carrier: they appear on their invoice, at their rates, under their contract. We do not sell minutes, do not resell numbers, and take nothing on top of what you call.
This means we are not your telephone company and cannot act as one. Number portability, emergency calling, service quality on the line itself and anything else that is properly a carrier’s obligation stays with the carrier you chose.
Plans, and what you pay
Per seat, per month, by card. $8 or $29, or free.
There is a free plan and there are paid plans. The free plan carries 2 seats and 100 minutes of outside calling a month. Basic is $8 per seat per month and Advanced is $29 per seat per month; automated calling is on Advanced and above. Enterprise accounts are priced in writing and those terms sit alongside this page rather than under it.
Paid plans are billed in advance — monthly, or yearly at 10 months’ price for twelve. Payment is by card, handled by Stripe; we never see or hold your card number. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are, which is calculated at checkout.
A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Add a seat mid-month and it is charged pro rata; remove one and the reduction takes effect at the next renewal.
If a published price changes, we give at least 30 days’ notice by email and the change takes effect at your next renewal, never inside a period you have already paid for.
The free plan’s limit
100 minutes a month. Outbound stops; people can still call you.
A free account may place and receive 100 minutes of calls to and from the outside world each calendar month. Calls between your own extensions do not count — they never leave the platform.
When the minutes are gone, outbound calling stops and inbound calling keeps working. A call already in progress is ended at the last second the allowance covers, so the limit is a limit rather than a suggestion, and the account is never billed for going over it. The allowance resets at the start of each month, UTC.
Paid plans are not metered by us at all. What you can call, and how much of it, is then a matter between you and your carrier.
What you may not do
Illegal calling, unconsented campaigns and spoofed caller ID end the account.
None of the following may be done with FoxLine. Where any of it is found, the account is suspended first and discussed afterwards.
- Anything unlawful where you are, or where the person you are calling is
- Automated, recorded or promotional calls to people who have not consented to receive them
- Presenting a caller ID that makes the call appear to come from somebody else’s name or number
- Calls intended to defraud, threaten, harass or nuisance the person answering
- Reselling access to the platform to third parties as though it were your own service, unless we have agreed that in writing
- Attempting to reach another customer’s account, trunk or panel, or probing the platform’s security without written permission first
Automated calls and consent
Having permission to call the list is your responsibility, and the law is strict.
When you run a campaign, it is your responsibility to hold valid consent for every number on it, and to comply with the rules that apply to automated and recorded calls wherever those numbers are. In the United States those rules carry damages per call. We require the basis for consent to be recorded with the campaign, and we keep it.
When somebody opts out with a keypress, that number is never called again from your account. It is enforced by the platform and you cannot override it.
Automated calling is a feature of the higher plans. On plans without it the dialler is visible but will not place a call, and asking support to enable it on a plan that does not include it is not something we can do.
Cancelling, and what expiry does
Cancel any time; the account locks when the period you paid for ends.
You can cancel from the panel at any time, with no penalty and nobody to talk to. The subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and is not renewed. We do not refund the remainder of a period, and we do not charge you for one you did not want.
When a paid subscription ends without being renewed, the account locks: it can be signed into, and its calling and configuration stop. Nothing is deleted at that moment — your data is held and the account is restored intact by resubscribing. What happens if it is left locked is in the data policy.
You may also delete the account outright, which starts the deletion described in the data policy and cannot be undone.
Suspension
We only stop an account for cause, and we say why.
We may suspend or close an account for unpaid charges, for breaking the rules above, or where a court or a law-enforcement agency requires it. Except in urgent security or fraud cases, we give notice first, and in every case we tell you which of these it was.
Availability
We take it seriously, and we are not yet promising an uptime figure.
We do what is reasonable to keep the service running, but we do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee. On the day we do, it will be stated here.
Maintenance is done outside business hours wherever possible, and planned work is announced in advance.
Calls that fail because of your internet connection, your power, your own carrier’s trunk or the network at the far end are outside our control.
Limits of liability
Any claim is capped at what you paid us in the last three months.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. On a free account that amount is nothing, and we say so plainly rather than leaving it to be worked out.
We are not liable for business losses, lost profits or lost opportunities. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If they change, you hear about it.
These terms may be updated from time to time. For any significant change we give at least 30 days’ notice by email, and the date above changes.
Who we are, and which law applies
Recentriq LLC, the United States.
FoxLine is published by Recentriq LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States. Every obligation on this page is an obligation of that company.
These terms are governed by the law of the state in which Recentriq LLC is registered, and any dispute falls to the courts of that state.
That state, the company’s registration number and its registered address are added to this page before the service goes on sale commercially. This document does not guess at them, and if you are reading it without them, treat the service as still in preview.
